Study on Control Strategy of Electric Power Steering for Commercial Vehicle Based on Multi-Map

In order to solve the problem where traditional electric power steering system (EPS) provides too much assist torque under low load and adhesion coefficient, which damages driver’s road feeling affects driving safety, this paper designs a multi-map EPS control strategy. First, based on change of resistance different front axle loads coefficients, characteristics considering coefficient were designed. addition, BP (Back Propagation, BP) neural network is used determine coefficients. Furthermore, strategy proposed. The proposed evaluated through co-simulation Trucksim Simulink. Simulation results show that gives vehicle good portability, with handling meeting ideal for commercial vehicle. Under light conditions, lateral acceleration yaw rate are 0.1674 g 5.641 deg/s, 0.1399 4.715 deg/s. Therefore, vehicle’s handliitung stability improved. wheel gradient also increased,
